Greencoat Capital – Fenland Glasshouse Project, Ely

  • Project Details: 217,000m2 Glasshouse Project located in Cambridge growing nearly 15% of the UK’s tomato and cucumber requirements;
  • Role: Enabling Works & Project Management (Construction Phase) and Asset Management (Operational Phase) for HV Network and Building Services;

 

Wallace DS commenced work on this project on day one for the enabling works.  Creating all temporary and permanent access tracks and site compounds and welfare facilities for the multiple contractors involved in this project.  Wallace DS also Project Managed the multi-utility deign, installation and commissioning consisting of 12.8km of gas infrastructure, 2.5km or water infrastructure and 6.5km of 33kV electric infrastructure through villages and alongside the major A10 trunk road to an exceptionally tight delivery programme.  More recently, Wallace DS are providing all HV operation & maintenance  and building service maintenance to the energy centre providing all the energy needs to this equivalent of 30 football pitch sized facility.
